We have a busy summer coming up and are looking for a few brave individuals who want to jump in and DOMINATE the Chattanooga startup scene.
We’re looking because… GigTank (!!!) is just around the corner and we want to make it the best startup accelerator experience in the country. We want your ideas, your input, your energy to be a part of making it happen.
So, we’ve opened up five rock star intern/fellowship positions to bring the best and brightest starters into the space. It’s going to be:

- constantly changing
- stretching your skill set
- expanding your network
- a blast!
You are also going to be working around people who share your energy and passion for what is going down in #CHA Summer 2012.
Here’s the list of Summer openings. All positions are paired with CO.LAB team leaders.
Director of Happiness
Keeps everyone at CO.LAB and GigTANK happy.
-Answers phones and greets people at the front desk
-Keeps Pandora going
-Answers questions and maintains web-based FAQ
-Stocks necessary supplies like beverages, snacks, paper towels, etc.
-Runs errands as needed to support CO.LAB/GigTANK staff
-1 Intern 8 hrs/day, 40/wk — or 2 part time.
Junior Creative Genius
Works with the Creative Director (Tianna Buckwalter) to create graphics, print and web materials for CO.LAB branding, events and campaigns.
-Junior or Senior design student
-Competency in Adobe Creative Suite
-Experience designing for web helpful
-Minimum 12 hours per week
Master of the Interwebs
Works with the Creative Director and Communications Director to keep the CO.LAB web presence current and functional.
-Experience with WordPress (self-hosted .org, not .com)
-Experience with CSS and HTML
-Solid understanding of Social Media and how to use it
-UX design experience helpful
-Minimum 8 hours per week
Tame the Gig Tank summer schedule, orchestrate the lineup of big-time events, and keep the clowns under control…
-Co-ordinate weekly group meals and speakers for big and small events
-Coordinating and scheduling out of town guest speaker accommodations, speaking venues, and trip itineraries.
-Work with communications team to provide timely event communication.
-Keep internal scheduling calendars up to date and share updates weekly
-Use Salesforce to track volunteer involvement and event attendance
-Assist with recruiting of volunteers
-Independently manage a team of volunteers to help with events
-Event planning experience required
Attends meetings and mentoring sessions with our Executive Entrepreneur and Air Traffic Controller (Charlie Brock/Sheldon Grizzle)
-Makes connections between mentors and startups
-Helps Charlie and Sheldon with scheduling
-Assists Charlie and Sheldon with keeping up with appropriate communications needs
-Gets other stuff done as needed
-1 fellow 8 hrs/day, 40/wk
