It’s unusual that you open an oft-visited blog, and stare at a picture of something you had just recently seen. In this case, the blog was Gizmodo, and the product is a “cancer sniffing” device that connects to a mobile device. And the reason the product looked so familiar was because one of Chattanooga’s own entrepreneurial innovators created the device right here in town: Dr. George Yu.
George earned his PhD from Georgia Tech in Electrical Engineering and is the founder of Variable Technologies. The 29-year old engineer landed in Chattanooga after his wife, Mina, was offered a position teaching computer science at UTC.
We have it on good authority that George has a new consumer product launching in a couple weeks on Kickstarter. We are excited and honored to be working with George to help him get Variable Tech off the ground! Great things to come for Chattanooga!
