Frank has been an investor, banker, entrepreneur and Fortune 500 executive. In 2011-2012, he was COO of the venture-funded Internet retailer VetsFirstChoice. From 1995 to 2010, Frank was part of the management team that turned around Chattanooga-based Provident Life & Accident Insurance Company, merged the major players in the disability insurance industry into the company now known as Unum (NYSE: UNM) and restructured the combined companies. He served in a wide variety of finance, operations and management roles in Chattanooga and Portland, Maine. His last job with Unum was Chief Investment Officer, where he was responsible for Unum’s $40 billion investment portfolio, corporate strategy, corporate development and treasury. Frank joined Provident from Morgan Stanley & Co. in New York City.
Frank is Treasurer and Vice Chairman of the Tennessee Aquarium. He is a former Board President of the Portland Stage Company, a professional theater at the heart of Portland, Maine’s thriving arts scene. Frank has also been actively involved with the Aspen Institute Socrates Seminars in Colorado, Coastal Conservation League in South Carolina, Institute for Civic Leadership in Portland and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Chattanooga.
Frank has a MBA from Harvard Business School and an undergraduate degree from Williams College. He grew up in South Carolina and lives in North Chattanooga with his wife and their two daughters.
