with CO.LAB’s Emily McAndrew and Kenzie Butera

On July 21st, we caravanned through the rain to the Nashville Entrepreneur Center for a Launch TN mixer and workshop. Thursday was filled with introductions to the Nashville EC and Launch TN staff, a workshop with the founders of EVAmore, and a panel discussion with the Managing Director from Jumpstart foundry, the founder of Gigamunch, and the founder of the MILK app.

After presentations, discussions with our peers, and a delicious breakfast meeting at Fido’s, we returned ready and reinvigorated to Chattanooga the following Monday. We hope to bring new ideas and programs to CO.LAB that compliment the organization’s strategic plan.

As the University of TN at Chattanooga gears up to launch a university entrepreneur center next fall, we are working to build out mentoring and educational opportunities for our fellow entrepreneurial students. This would include a peer-to-peer mentoring program and student lunch & learns meant to educate university students and faculty on local opportunities and resources.

Launch TN will be having their 36I86 Entrepreneur Festival August 29–30 in Nashville. I [Kenzie] will be participating in the student edition pitch on August 28th. For more information about the festival, contact Brittany Burgess at brittany@launchtn.org. We hope to see you there!
