As many of you know, we like to shake things up from time to time. It’s what entrepreneurs do, and it’s part of our ethos at CO.LAB. In keeping with that value, we’re partnering with Hive Chattanooga to bring the best aspects of 48Hour Launch to GigHacks CHA this weekend.

Designers, developers, writers, marketers, biz dev specialists, entrepreneurs – this means you.

GigHacks is a hackathon designed to encourage talented dreamers and doers to build the future of the Internet. This is a multi-city event, meaning you’ll get to collaborate with peers in San Francisco, Burlington, Kansas City and Charlotte throughout the weekend. Virtual reality, anyone? To add to this experience, we’re inviting all GigHacks participants to make use of the following technical resources:

  • Oculus Rift headsets
  • Two full HD 360-degree Giroptic cameras
  • Two Kubi telepresence robots
  • Opportunity to build on the real-time app platform Big Bang

If you want to get in on the action, we encourage you to jump on this opportunity ASAP. Teams of developers have already assembled, and we need people like you to join them. Here are a few of the groups and projects you’ll have a chance to work with:

Adagio’s cloud-based audio mixing platform allows students and professionals access to studio-quality tools right from their browsers.

Carbon Five is a collaborative software development and design firm. Their GigHacks application will focus on virtual and augmented reality.

CodeXX will work on Chattanewbie, a social network for people who are new to Chattanooga. The Chattanewbie project is open to men and women, and the CodeXX team is looking for front and back-end developers of all experience levels to help build it.

devLearn is an app originally developed at Hackanooga, offering gamefied lessons in HTML and CSS, with a JavaScript tutorial on the way. Users have taken over 100,000 quizzes through devLearn, in only its first few months. The application is available for Android and iOS.

Like Google Docs for videos, Viditor is an open-source, collaborative video editor, leveraging gigabit Internet speeds to allow multiple users to create and edit projects in real time and from any device with a modern browser.
